In 1995 Phil Carta was asked to utilize his travel expertise to start a company that focuses on the Indian Ocean archipelago known as Seychelles. At the time Phil owned and operated a tour operator that focused on the Caribbean. He felt that this was the perfect opportunity to get away from the homogony that had become the Caribbean and embark on a NEW ADVENTURE. Phil traveled extensively to Seychelles while building out the breadth of offerings we have today. Seychelles is a perfect destination for that adventurous and discerning traveler.
The magic of the Seychelles lured only the most seasoned, discerning and adventurous travelers. New Adventures was created to accommodate this traveler-- A traveler looking for adventurous destinations with unique cultural, geographical and ecological aspects. New Adventures can offer every level and type of accommodation for this traveler, beach bungalow, 5 star luxury resort, bare boat, island cruises and live aboard dive boats.
The focus on unique island destinations is what has led to an expanded offering that now includes Mauritius, Reunion Island, Maldives and Zanzibar. All of these island getaways are engulfed with the natural beauty that only the Indian Ocean can deliver and the cultural elements that you can only find in Africa and Asia.
The Surf –n-Safari was born out of the core desire to travel and see new destinations, new people and new cultures. Our Seychelles travelers felt that since they were in that part of the world—Seychelles, Mauritius, Reunion, Maldives-- they felt compelled to see the Serengeti, Masai Mara, Kilimanjaro, Mount Kenya, Victoria Falls, Tarangire National Park and Nairobi. This feedback pushed the proverbial stone down the hill and as a result we designed safaris in Kenya and Tanzania to accommodate this persistent request. This has since expanded to Botswana and South Africa. The combination of an island getaway and a safari was born.
New Adventures has now been delivering the Safari Experience since 1998 to that adventurous traveler that is willing to explore the archipelago of Seychelles, experience the culture and cuisine of Mauritius, explore the adventure mecca of Reunion and lounge on your own island in the Maldives. Since 1998 Kenya, Tanzania, South Africa and Botswana have been destinations that New Adventures can deliver with the same quality and expertise our clients have become accustomed to. While most companies attempt to either disguise the fact that they sub-contract safari ground operations, or go to great lengths to show they have their own employees in Africa, we are proud of our relationship with Nick Kariuki. Nick is our Kenyan partner and brings complete reliability, local knowledge and relationships and unsurpassed expertise about the safari experience.
