Day 1.
Your safari starts with the drive or flight to Kilimanjaro National Park and then the drive to Tarangire National Park. Once inside the gates of the park you will have time for your first game drive as you drive through the park on the way to your Lodge in time for lunch. In the afternoon you will enjoy your private game drive in this reserve famous for it's huge numbers of elephants, baobab trees, zebras, antelope, giraffes, baboons and prodigious numbers of varied birds. You will return to the Lodge in time for dinner and overnight. (LD)
Day 2.
A full day of game viewing in Tarangire. Your Driver/Guide knows how to find the elusive species and, being in constant contact with other safari drivers, will learn where special sightings are happening and will often make a beeline there. Overnight in Tarangire. (BLD)
Day 3.
After breakfast, enjoy a final game drive through Tarangire as you start on your way to Ngorongoro Crater. A picnic lunch will be provided and your Driver/Guide will make several stops along the way at various places of interest, including a stop at the edge of the escarpment overlooking Lake Manyara. After arrival in Ngorongoro you will head into the crater for a game drive at the bottom. Overnight in Ngorongoro. (BLD)
Day 4.
A wonderful full day game drive (with a picnic lunch) inside the Ngorongoro Crater. As very few animals migrate in and out of the crater with its 2000 foot high walls, you can expect to see lions, elephants, giraffes, zebras, monkeys, hippos, flamingos, jackals, rhinos, antelopes and many birds and other species. As in Tarangire your Driver/Guide will be in contact with other safari drivers and will amaze you with his skill at locating the hidden animals. Overnight in Ngorongoro. (BLD)
Day 5.
After breakfast, you start on your way to Serengeti National Park. A picnic lunch will be provided. On the way you will stop at the Olduvai Gorge where anthropologists Louis and Mary Leakey made many significant discoveries, contributing to the theory that human life originated in Africa. After stopping for your picnic lunch on a kopje (rock outcropping) in Serengeti (where the entry gate and services are located) you will continue further into the park and go on a game drive on your way to your Lodge. Day 6.
A full day of game drives around Serengeti. Depending on the time of year and the migration of the herds you can expect to see wildebeest, lions, elephants, giraffes, zebras, monkeys, baboons, hippos, rhinos, antelopes and many birds and other species. As in Ngorongoro your Driver/Guide will be in contact with other safari drivers and will amaze you with his skill at locating the hidden animals. Overnight in Serengeti. (BLD)
Day 7.
Another full day of game drives. Your Driver/Guide, having consulted overnight with the other Driver/Guides will head out in whatever direction will bring you to animals you haven't yet seen. Overnight in Serengeti. (BLD)
Day 8.
One final morning game drive before leaving. You will fly to Arusha and then drive by road back to Nairobi.You will fly to Arusha and then to the Kilimanjaro Airport and then back to Nairobi.You will fly to Arusha and then to the Kilimanjaro Airport. A picnic lunch will be taken along. (BL). |
