Day 1.
Your safari starts with the drive or flight to Samburu. You will be taken to your Lodge in time for lunch or dinner. If you are there in time, in the afternoon you will enjoy your first experiences with the game in the area. You will return to your Lodge in time for dinner and overnight. (LD)
Day 2.
Your day starts out with a morning game drive in Samburu. Your Driver/Guide knows how to find the elusive species and, being in constant contact with other safari drivers, will learn where special sightings are happening and will often make a beeline there. You will return to the lodge for lunch and then go out for another game drive in the afternoon. Overnight in Samburu. (BLD)
Day 3.
Your safari starts with the drive or flight to the Highlands region. Depending on schedules there may be a game drive in the morning. You will be taken to your Highlands Lodge in time for lunch or dinner. If you are there in time, in the afternoon you will enjoy your first experiences with the game in the area. This afternoon you will enjoy your choice of several nature walks and other activities or a visit to the Mau Mau caves. You may also enjoy a private game drive through one of the various parks and reserves in the area (these optins depends on which safari level you choose). You will return to your Lodge in time for dinner and overnight. (LD)
One of the great features of the Mountain Lodge (Traveler Level) is the overnight game viewing. Throughout the day, but mostly in the evening and night, many of the wild animals come to the waterhole. Many guests stay up all night enjoying the comfortable lounges, balconies and other viewing areas including the underground (and very close up) photography bunker. Others prefer to sleep, but are primed for the bell in their room which is rung to alert them to special happenings at the waterhole.
Day 4.
Your safari will provide a full day of game viewing in the Highlands. If you have chosen to stay at The Ark then you will have a morning game drive. Your Driver/Guide knows how to find the elusive species and, being in constant contact with other safari drivers, will learn where special sightings are happening and will often make a beeline there. Overnight in the Highlands with an option to stay at The Ark.
If you are staying at The Ark you will be transferre dy bus (1/2 hour) to The Ark. High up in Aberdare National Park, The Ark is one of the famous "tree hotels" with a large waterhole and fantastic overnight game viewing. Throughout the day, but mostly in the evening and night, many wild animals come to the waterhole. Many guests stay up all night enjoying the comfortable viewing lounges, open air areas and the photography bunker. (BLD)
Day 5.
After breakfast you will start on your way to Masai Mara by land or air. If you are traveling by Road, the entire day will be fascinating as you drive through the Highlands and into the Great Rift Valley on your way to Masai Mara. A picnic lunch will be provided and your Driver/Guide will make several stops along the way at various places of interest. Once in Masai Mara you will enjoy a game drive on your way to your Lodge. Overnight in Masai Mara (BLD).
Day 6.
A fascinating full day game drive (with a picnic lunch) in the awesome Masai Mara. Depending on the time of year you can expect to see lions, elephants, giraffes, wildebeest, zebras, cheetah, leopards, hippos, rhinos, antelopes, eagles and many birds and other species. As in the Highlands your Driver/Guide will be in contact with other safari drivers and will amaze you with his skill at locating the hidden animals. Overnight in Masai Mara. (BLD)
Day 7.
Another full day game drive (with a picnic lunch) in Masai Mara. Your Driver/Guide, having consulted overnight with the other Driver/Guides will head out in whatever direction will bring you to animals you haven't yet seen, including possibly the amazing hippo pools. Overnight in Masai Mara. (BLD)
Day 8.
One final morning game drive before leaving for Nairobi. You have the option of a land or air journey back to Nairobi. If traveling by land a picnic lunch will be taken along.
