This adventure starts at King Shaka International Airport and ends at Maputo International Airport.

Day 1, 2 , 3 & 4

Upon arrival at King Shaka International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by a member of our team and driven to Phinda Private Game Reserve, 23 000 hectares (56 800 acres) of prime Big Five wilderness in KwaZulu-Natal.

Set within easy reach of the Indian Ocean coastline and the famous iSimangaliso / Greater St Lucia Wetland Park in northern KwaZulu-Natal, &Beyond Phinda Private Game Reserve is known for its abundant wildlife, diversity of habitats and wide range of safari activities. Thanks to its coastal rainfall pattern, the Reserve enjoys a lush green environment that contains seven distinct ecosystems. &Beyond Phinda is often referred to as ‘Seven Worlds of Wonder.’ This fascinating variety of landscape and vegetation shelters an abundance of wildlife, including not only the Big Five but many rarer and less easily spotted species, such as the elusive cheetah or the scarce black rhino. With only a handful of lodges sharing an area of 23 000 hectares, and expert rangers and trackers in search of prime wildlife sightings, guests are assured an exclusive game viewing experience. Adding to Phinda’s wildlife charms, the marine diversity of nearby Sodwana Bay on the coast is easily accessible, with scuba diving, fishing and even turtle watching only some of the adventures available from Phinda.

Accommodation is in an air conditioned suite with ensuite bathroom comprising bath, shower, separate w.c. and twin hand basins. All suites have a sitting area, personal bar and private veranda, complete with plunge pool and romantic al fresco shower. Your stay includes three meals daily, soft drinks, house wines, local brand spirits and beers, teas and coffees, emergency medical evacuation insurance, laundry and daily lodge adventures.

Day 5, 6, 7, & 8

After breakfast you will be collected from Phinda Private Game Reserve and transferred to Kosi Bay Border Post, where you will met by a White Pearl Resorts representative and driven to the lodge, renowned for its soft, white sand and azure ocean.

Stretching 500 km (300 miles) up Mozambique’s coast from Ponta Do Ouro in the south, the Lagoon Coast is the name given to an extraordinarily beautiful region encompassing a series of serene coastal lagoons, a number of them cut off from the sea by some of the world’s highest forested sand dunes. The waters off the coast are home to various species of turtles, sharks and dolphins, while on land ancient elephant migration routes are protected in the Maputo Elephant Reserve, where mangroves and reed swamps give way to dense forests.

Accomodation is in a beach pool suite with an ensuite bathroom with outdoor shower, private deck and private plunge pool. Your stay includes full breakfast, three- course dinner, bottled mineral water and a snorkelling adventure with dolphins during your stay. The resident pod of bottle nosed dolphins that frequents this coastline is an absolute joy to swim with.

Day 9

A helicopter flight will take you from White Pearl Resorts to Maputo International Airport.

BLACK RHINO TRACKING
Slip on some comfortable walking shoes, grab your binoculars and camera, and spend the morning on foot with a qualified ranger and tracker team in search of the rare and highly endangered black rhinoceros. Without the hum of the safari vehicle, you will hear, smell, feel and see with heightened awareness. Learn how to follow rhino tracks, recognise rhino middens and scratching posts, and follow the signs of the trees and grasses searching for rhino in the company of Phinda’s experts. The safety of our guests is paramount and only the most expertly trained and qualified &Beyond guides host these walks.

TURTLE NESTING ADVENTURE
The four-month nesting season of the leatherback and loggerhead turtles takes place during South Africa’s summer months (November to February). This unforgettable adventure allows guests to view these enormous reptilian sea creatures emerge from the Indian Ocean at Sodwana Bay to lay their precious eggs in the sand. Excitement builds as you drive along the deserted coastline under the moonlight in search of fresh turtle tracks. The female turtles emerge from the water at night and make the strenuous journey up the beach in search of a suitable nesting site. They will then dig a nest and lay their clutch of approximately 100 soft-shelled eggs. Besides witnessing the rare and beautiful nesting rituals of these huge reptiles, guests also enjoy the spectacular beauty of the surrounding marine ecosystem with its sand dunes that tower over the beach

HORSE RIDING
Explore the natural bush surrounding White Pearl Resorts on horseback. Gallop along a bush trail, weaving through indigenous flora and fauna, and enjoy spectacular views of the ocean from high-up vantage points. All rides are professionally managed to ensure an enjoyable experience for all ages and levels of experience.

SCUBA DIVING
Enjoy an exclusive scuba diving experience on protected, world-renowned reefs. Our experienced dive instructors will show you brightly coloured underwater corals and an array of brilliantly marked fish launching directly from the beach at the resort. With its clear waters and accessible reefs, this is the ideal dive destination for both beginners and specialised divers.
