Experience three of Tanzania’s best wildlife parks.  Start your safari in the diverse habitats of Lake Manyara National Park whose lake, woodlands, and mountainsides offer a spectacular setting to view elephant herds, lions and a great variety of birds .   Then head deep into world's largest intact caldera, the Ngorongoro Crater, a vast wildlife haven whose steep walls surround the inhabits on the crater floor, including black rhino, pink flamingos, tusked elephants, and black-maned lions.  Finally, head to the ultimate safari destination in Tanzania, Serengeti National Park, where you can search for wildlife on the "endless plains”, perhaps catching lions on a hunt, elephants at play, or the Great Wildebeest Migration.Day 1   Arrive in Tanzania/Transfer from Kilimanjaro Airport - Arusha

ITINERARY

Day 1  
Arrive in Tanzania/Transfer from Kilimanjaro Airport - Arusha

After arrival at Kilimanjaro Airport you will be met by your driver and transferred to your hotel in Arusha.

Overnight: The Arusha Hotel or Arusha Coffee Lodge (BB)

Day 2  
Arusha to Manyara

This morning you will drive to the small but beautiful Lake Manyara National Park. Lunch is at the lodge.   In the afternoon, you will have a game drive in the park, driving through its diverse habitats - grasslands, forests, marshlands, scrub and parklands, punctuated with acacia trees.  Have your camera ready while looking for lions and large elephant herds.

Day 3  
Manyara to Ngorongoro

This morning you will have another game drive in Manyara. After lunch at your lodge, you will drive to Ngorongoro Crater, the world's largest intact caldera, which is certainly among the natural wonders of the world.

Ngorongoro, a deep crater created by the collapsed cone of a volcano, contains a hidden world of wildlife.  The floor of the crater is only 100 square miles, but is home to around 30,000 animals -zebra, wildebeest, gazelle, buffalo, eland, hartebeest, wart hog, and elephant , to name just a few, along with a high concentration of predators, including  leopard and some of the finest black-maned lions in Africa.  Search for the rare and elusive black rhinoceros, one of Africa’s most endangered species, who is also a resident here. You may also see thousands of flamingos, fluttering and shimmering like a pink heat haze on the soda lake in the middle of the crater.  Ngorongoro is a true Garden of Eden. A beautiful highland forest covers the 2,000-foot-deep sheer sides of the caldera, a spectacular barrier encircling and protecting the plains wildlife living on the crater floor.

Day 4
Ngorongoro Crater

Enjoy an early breakfast before descending to the short grass prairies of the Crater, a morning unlike any other you will experience in Africa. Enjoy a picnic lunch amongst the hippos and birds.  After lunch, you will visit a Maasai village to gain cultural insight into the lifestyle of these nomadic cattle herders. The Maasai have peacefully coexisted with wildlife here since the 17th century into this fascinating tribe.

Day 5 
Ngorongoro Crater to Serengeti

Depart Ngorongoro after breakfast and drive to the Serengeti, one of the most magnificent parks in Africa.  Lunch is at your lodge.  After lunch, enjoy an afternoon game drive.

Serengeti National Park is arguably the most famous national park in the world.  Its abundance of game is legendary.  Established in 1951, and covering an area of almost 15,000 square kilometers, an area comparable to the state of Connecticut, the Serengeti hosts a fantastically diverse ecosystem. The principal attraction of the Serengeti is the Great Migration across the vast open grasslands, when 1.5 million wildebeest, hundreds of thousands of zebra, gazelle and other game that follow close behind make their way across the plains, stalked by the inevitable predators who make the most of the moving feast.

Day 6
Serengeti

Enjoy morning and afternoon game drives in the Serengeti, with meals at your lodge.

Day 7
Serengeti to Kilimanjaro airport

This morning you will be transferred to the airstrip to connect with your scheduled flight to Arusha.  Once in Arusha, you will have lunch, before being driven to Kilimanjaro airport for your international flight home. BL
